DC Artist Collective, Inc (DCAC) is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit corporation formed to support and promote dance, movement, music, theatre, performance art and associated and collaborative arts in their various forms. Nancy Newell founded DCAC in 2001 and it has become one of Washington, DC metro area's leading independent, non-profit organizations supporting performance art and dance education. DC Artist Collective's mission is to increase community exposure and accessibility to the arts, support dance companies, facilitat artist exchange programs and serve as a reference/archival library for the creative process. DCAC promotes participation and enjoyment through various forms of community outreach such as dance classes, class scholarships, workshops, festivals and performances.

We provide financial support to dance companies and associated individual performers including but not limited to: Culture Shock DC, Edwin Aparicio Flamenco Dance Company, Michelle AVA and other local performing artists.
- Reference and Archival Library
DCAC assists DC Dance Collective to maintain written documentation, audio/video taped materials, photographs and any other visual medium which reflects the creative process of DCDC students, teachers, local DC performance artists, and performing artists from other parts of the world
